Detox Diet The Carrot Juice Fast


Some people have benefitted from the carrot juice fast. They claim that diseases can be reversed with this form of detox diet . Carrot juice is highly promoted by Norman Walker in his book on Raw Vegetable Juice. 

Walker was a daily practitioner of raw food eating and juicing and lived to the age of 99 years old (January 4, 1886 — June 6, 1985). The carrot juice fast involves drinking 8 ounzes of carrot juice every 2-3 hours throughout the day. 

Supporters have gone on this detox diet for a period of 7 days or sometimes longer. (However, going on any period for more than a week is not advised, unless you are under the supervision of a naturopathic doctor. 

In fact, a prolonged detox diet should only be done if you want to accomplish a purpose such as in treating a chronic condition. But you should not be doing this on your own if this is the case. In fact, your progress should be closely monitored by your doctor. ).



It is best that carrot used for this detox diet is organic. If it is not, it may be wise to peel the skin away before juicing. Additionally, wash the carrot in distilled water to rinse it off any chemicals. I personally feel that a carrot juice fast is just like any mono detox diet. The advantage of a mono detox diet is in the elimination of food combinations and reduced demands made on your digestive system during the period of cleanse.

This provides an opportunity for your body to cleanse itself of the debris stored inside your body and also a chance for it to repair and heal itself. Of course, the downside of a mono detox diet is that you may just get bored and sick of taking the same drink or food during the period of the cleanse. In this case, some meditation and positive visualization can help you with some sustaining mental power.
