Prostate Symptoms - you should know about it

Prostate Symptoms - HealthCampIndia Blog

Prostate Symptoms

Prostate cancer is life threatening when nothing is done either to prevent it or treat it. It takes time for it to develop and mature in your body. It might have started developing when you were thirty but because you didn’t know the symptoms you only discover it when you are 50 plus in it’s advanced stage. Treatment is more effective when the cancer is detected in its early stages. After all, the early bird always catches the worm. Here are some of the symptoms associated with prostate cancer.

You may experience difficulty when urinating. That is to say you might suffer some pain and discomfort. And you also have the urgent need to urinate from time to time despite the amount of liquid you would have drunk. The slow flow of urine and difficulty in stopping when you are in the bathroom is also a sign

When you find yourself waking up a lot in the middle of the night to urinate it is certainly not normal with the exception of the season winter, as the body loses a lot of water as a means to keeping you warm. But to be on the safe side check with your doctor to make sure that it’s normal. Also if you experience trouble when starting to urinate is a cause for concern and you must not ignore it.

Notice any blood in the urine? That is another symptom of prostate cancer. Your urine will darken from the normal yellow color to a more reddish color because of the blood.

Your sex urge begins to decline considerably. So if you are experiencing this problem stop looking for the answers in the wrong places and go in for check up.

Pain when ejaculating is another sign that you may be diagnosed with prostate cancer. Visit your doctor as soon as possible and stop stalling.

You will also experience pain in the hips, pelvis and back. It also means that the cancer is now in its advanced stages and has spread to the specified areas of your body.

In addition to the symptoms I have mentioned above, you may also have reduced ability to get an erection. This also happens when you have too much on your mind but if you know you are happy and stress free then something is seriously wrong.

If you experience any of the above then you should go and visit your doctor immediately. It may be a false alarm but it’s alright to know that you are safe. Remember that prostate cancer can happen to anyone so don’t do the mistake of ignoring these signs.

It may just save your life from prostate cancer.

Visit your doctor as often as you can for examination. Symptoms may start to show much later as compared to when the cancer had started to grow.

A word of advice is that you shouldn’t wait for these symptoms to start showing so that you can do something about it.

You know prostate cancer is real so take preventive measures against the cancer.

Difference between Common Cold, Flu and PNEUMONIA

Hello Readers,

Do you know the difference between COMMON COLD, FLU AND PNEUMONIA?

In this post, let us understand differences between these three symptoms and how to treat:

Common Cold, Flu and PNEUMONIA
Pneumonia

Key Symptoms

Whilst Pneumonia may present symptoms similar to the common cold, it is in fact more sever.

Symptoms include difficulty breathing, fever, shivering or sweating, chest pain, fatigue and a dry or phlegm producing cough.

What is it ?

Caused by an infection from bacteria, viruses or fungi, which causes the lungs to become inflamed and swell up with fluid.

How long will it last and how can it be prevented?

It may take weeks to feel well again after catching Pneumonia. Even mild cases of Pneumonia can leave  you with a cough that persists of two to three weeks after treatment.

Vaccination can help reduce the risk of  Pneumococcal Pneumonia,  the most common form of bacterial Pneumonia.

Treatment:

Mild cases can usually be treated with antibiotics, lots of rest and fluids at home. Left untreated, Pneumonia can be serious and life threatening.

HelathCampIndia- Common Cold, Flu and PNEUMONIA
Flu

Key Symptoms:

Tend to start more suddenly and last longer than those of the common cold and include high temperature, a headache, exhaustion and aches and pains. Symptoms tend to be more profound than a common cold.

What is it?

A common viral infection caused by the influenza virus, not caused by the same virus as a cold.

How long will it last and how cant it be prevented?

Generally lasts for around a week, however sufferers may feel tired for much longer. Unlike a cold, you can help protect yourself against flu with a flu vaccine.

Treatment

As with a cold, if you have flu you can look after yourself at home by having plenty of rest and fluids. For older children (over 16 years) and adults, over the counter cold & flu remedies can be used to relieve symptoms.

Sometimes antiviral medication can be used to reduce symptoms and aid recovery

Common Cold

Key Symptoms

Sore throat, blocked or runny nose, headaches, muscle aches, sneezing, a raised temperature and a cough

What is it?

A mild viral infection of the nose and throat

How long will it last and how can it be prevented?

A cold usually clears up on its own within a week or two. There is no reliable prevention of colds, but you can help stop your cold spreading to friends and family by washing your hands regularly and always using a tissue to cough or sneeze.

Treatment

Unfortunately there is no cure for a cold, it is recommended to rest and drink plenty of fluids.

For children over 6 years old and adults, over the counter cold remedies can be used to relieve symptoms

What do you know about Rheumatoid Arthritis.....?

                                                                                                         source:googleimages

Rheumatoid Arthritis is a common Rheumatological condition in the community. It affects 1% of the population in India. In Rheumatoid Arthritis multiple joints are painful, swollen and are tender to touch.

Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease that attacks the joints. Although it shares some symptoms with osteoarthritis, the type of arthritis that usually occurs in older people due to wear and tear on joints, there are some key differences. Rheumatoid arthritis can attack at any age, can come on rapidly, and may be accompanied by other symptoms, such as fatigue.

  • The other important symptom in the disease is early morning stiffness in the joints. The early morning stiffness in the joints usually lasts for more than one hour. Rheumatoid Arthritis usually affects the same joint on both sides of the body, for e.g., arthritis affecting the left and right wrist. Rheumatoid Arthritis starts in the small joints of the hands and feet, later affect the big joints like knees and hips.

  • In the normal joint end of the each bone is covered with healthy cartilage, which will be eroded in Rheumatoid Arthritis. A membrane, called synovium surrounds the joint, which will be inflamed and thickened in Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Inflamed synovium secrets more synovial fluid in to the joints, causing swelling and pain in the joint. In a healthy joint cartilage provides smooth slippery surface, which helps free joint movement and the synovial fluid, acts as lubricant.

Sometimes patient notice nodular swellings over the elbows these are called Rheumatoid Nodules, which are very characteristic of Rheumatoid Arthritis. Rheumatoid Arthritis rarely affects other parts of the body e.g., lungs, blood vessels and eyes etc.

IF YOU NOTICE ABOVE SYMPTOMS, CONSULT DOCTOR IN YOUR REGION  IMMEDIATELY....................
