Dr. K.M. Bhandari ,Managing
director , Bhandari Hospital & Research Centre is a general surgeon by
profession yet a visionary by choice. Realizing the pace of development of
newer equipments & techniques in the field of surgery, Dr. Bhandari opted
to be the first in the state to adopt them & pass on the benefit to needy
population at the affordable charges.
Few initiatives in this direction
include, introduction of Laparoscopic Surgery in 1992, Dornier Lithotripsy for
non-surgical treatment of stone in the year 1998, Holmium Yag Laser,introduced in the year 2000 in general surgery, gastroenterology, urology,
gynecology and neurosurgery for Laser ablation to minimize blood loss and
enhance precision. The mobile Urology Van was introduced in 2008 to deliver
advanced urology facility along with lithotripsy facility to rural population
at their door step.
