President Celebrates his Birthday with Differently abled Children

The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee celebrated his 77th birthday with differently abled 

children at Rashtrapati Bhavan today (December 11, 2012). The President witnessed a cultural 

programme performed by differently abled children.

Seventy differently abled children who met and greeted the President were from different 

schools/organizations of Delhi viz. Amar Jyoti School, Karkardooma, Government Senior Secondary 

School for Deaf, Kalkaji, Action for Autism, Tamana School, Vasant Vihar, All India Deaf Federation, 

JPM Senior Secondary School, Pt. Deen Dayal Institute for the Physically Handicapped. 

Kumari Selja, Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment was present on the occasion. 

The President also planted a sapling in the Rashtrapati Bhavan compound to mark his birthday. 

Dignitaries who called on the President to greet him included the Vice President, Prime Minister, 

Speaker, Lok Sabha and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha.
